經過1場休息，林書豪12日再次先發上陣，出賽24分鐘，8投5中，三分球投3中2，延續首役發燙手感，攻下全隊最高16分，外加3籃板、5助攻、1抄截、2失誤，可惜其他隊友熄火，籃網最終以100比121慘敗給熱火。

林書豪首節就飆進三分球，隨後送出2次助攻，但也因為發生2次失誤導致被換下場休息，籃網一度落後12分，幸好替補球員發威，打完首節只以26比27落後。次節，林書豪穩定發揮，投進全場第二顆三分球，並以擅長的切入製造對手犯規，單節攻下7分，半場5投3中攻下10分、4助攻、1籃板，幫助籃網反以59比55超前熱火。

易籃再戰，熱火當家中鋒懷特塞德在禁區逞威，被對手打出單節38比17攻勢，即便林書豪再添4分、1助攻、1籃板，也無濟於事，76比93落後多達17分。

決勝節，籃網無力反撲，最終以21分陽台擴建之差慘敗，全隊7人得分上雙，除了林書豪外，替補的波達諾維奇13分，史科拉與漢米頓各12分，班奈特11分，哈里斯和基普拉克各有10分進帳。熱火懷特塞德21分、14分勇冠三軍，卓拉吉奇17分、11助攻，打老東家格外得心應手的艾林頓，10投5中，光是三分球就飆進4顆，得到14分。

此外，馬林魚王牌投手費南德茲上月因船難過世，邁阿密痛失英才，身處同一城市的熱火隊也同感哀戚。12日與籃網進行熱身賽前，隊員穿上特製的費南德茲T恤進行暖身，並為他悼念片刻。

根據社群媒體觀察網站《MVPIndex.com》的統計數據顯示，林書豪的社群影響力僅次於勇士隊史提芬柯瑞，甚至比騎士隊詹姆斯還要高，排名第二，可見得關注林書豪的粉迷有多少。
